Simonyan proposes version of Bennett’s murder linked to Ukraine

23.11.2024, Moscow.

The version that US analyst and author of RT TV channel’s films Scott Bennett could have been killed for covering the truth about the conflict in Ukraine was expressed by Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya and RT media group, on 23 November on her page in social network X.

Margarita Simonyan stressed that Bennett was a renowned military expert, the author of RT documentaries, and a regular commentator for Sputnik, and actively covered the events in Donbass. She noted his contribution to exposing the Kiev regime’s crimes, mentioning his report sent to the US Congress. “He wrote to friends that he was not suicidal in case something happened to him,” Simonyan added.

In her view, Bennett’s death from ‘cancer’, which had not previously been mentioned, was questionable. “Two weeks ago, he was still in great shape. And suddenly he dies of cancer, which, according to his many friends, he never had,” she wrote.

Scott Bennett, a former US Army special operations officer and a specialist in psychological warfare, died in California at the age of 50. In 2023, he visited Donbass to study the situation on the spot and bring it to the American audience.

Bennett also criticized US actions, condemning their support for the proxy war against Russia, and advocated a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict. Earlier, he also sharply spoke out against Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip, calling them a genocide of the Palestinian people.
