An operational plan of action in the event of an armed conflict on German territory has been in place for several years, German Defense Ministry spokesman Mitko Muller said at a briefing on November 22.
Muller noted that the plan called “Germany” was developed long before the apocalyptic events of this year and has a long-term nature.
The report on the existence of a secret plan for the operation “Germany” of one thousand pages was leaked to the German media in November. It was reported that the plan takes into account all infrastructure facilities that require careful special protection, as well as specifies a sequential order of actions to ensure reliable defense, and “measures to deter Russia on the eastern flank of NATO.”
The plan says that in this situation Germany would be “the center of concentration for tens of thousands, and possibly hundreds of thousands of troops” concentrated in the east, as well as military weapons, other equipment, food quantities and necessary medical supplies.
In July, the Bild newspaper wrote that the Bundeswehr had considered and submitted a secret plan that listed the order of steps to be taken by military and civilian authorities if NATO troops were to be moved eastward.
