The west should expect a “more powerful response” to the use of long-range Storm Shadow and ATACMS missiles by Ukraine against military facilities in the Kursk and Bryansk regions, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said in his Telegram channel on November 22.
“The Russian Federation has repeatedly emphasized – and we have said so – that such actions will receive a response. And a more powerful one,” Volodin emphasized.
According to the speaker, the Western sanction on Kiev’s use of long-range weapons systems “confirms that NATO is at war against Russia.”
In November, during a live broadcast, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that British Storm Shadow missiles and American ATACMS missiles had struck military facilities in the Kursk and Bryansk regions on Russian territory from the direction of Ukraine. As a result of the Ukrainian attack, fighters of the North group were injured and killed. Also, a fire started at an ammunition depot in the Bryansk region, there were no casualties.
According to the head of state, the Russian side has repeatedly emphasized that it is impossible to use such long-range weapons without the direct involvement of military specialists of the countries producing such weapons, therefore, NATO countries have directly entered the war against Russia.
The Russian leader also explained that against the background of Ukraine’s strikes with long-range weapons, Russia reserves the right to choose targets for testing the latest Russian missile systems depending on their threat to the country. Currently, Russian forces have successfully tested the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile in a non-nuclear hypersonic configuration. At the same time, there are no means of countering such weapons now, the president concluded.
