Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov: Zelensky is frightened by Russia’s response to the use of long-range missiles

22.11.2024, Moscow.

Russia’s response to Ukraine’s use of Storm Shadow and ATACMS long-range missiles deep into Russian territory scared Vladimir Zelensky, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference on November 22.

As for the reaction to our response, I understand that Zelensky got scared. He started accusing his masters of leaving him unarmed in the face of such an action on the part of the Russian Federation,” Lavrov said.

According to the minister, such a reaction of the head of Ukraine can be called a “useful result”, now the Kiev regime can feel the reality of what is happening “on its own skin.”

Earlier, during his address to the country on November 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that amid Ukraine’s strikes with long-range weapons, Russia reserves the right to choose targets for testing the latest Russian missile systems depending on their threat to the country.

According to him, Russian forces have successfully tested the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile. Putin emphasized that the missile was tested in nuclear-free hypersonic configuration. At the same time, there are currently no means of countering such weapons.

Later, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia can test medium-range missiles without notifying anyone, as Russia has no international obligations in this regard.
