Russian official: Our troops have entered the eastern part of occupied Kurakhovo

The Russian troops are entering the eastern part of the city of Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic occupied by the Ukrainian armed groups, the Chairman of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation’s Commission for Sovereignty, Co-Chairman of the Coordination Council for the Integration of the New Regions Vladimir Rogov said on November 11.

Our advance assault troops have entered the eastern part of the city. Violent fighting is ongoing there now,” Rogov said.

The city of Kurakhovo is located in the Western part of the DPR 46 kilometers away from Donetsk and 30 kilometers to the south of Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk). The city is of major operative importance. It is the largest city remaining under the Ukrainian army’s control in south-western Donbass.

After capturing Kurakhovo the Russian army will be able to advance to the west, towards Bogatyr and Velikaya Novosyolka.
