Russian Foreign Ministry: There are growing efforts to drag Moldova into a conflict on the Ukrainian side

11.11.2024, Moscow.

Statements made by the Moldovan Foreign Ministry about allegedly Russian drones that fell on their territory are a provocation, said Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the press service of the agency reported on November 11.

Zakharova stated that the Russian side, when planning attacks on Ukrainian military facilities, does not lay out flight routes for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) through countries bordering Ukraine, including Moldova. The diplomat pointed to the fact that the statement about two allegedly Russian drones that fell in Moldova appeared simultaneously with the Ukrainian UAV raid on Russian facilities.

On November 10, Ukrainian militants used 84 UAVs in the attack between midnight and 8am Moscow time, the Russian Foreign Ministry representative indicated.

“This coincidence indicates that the Kiev authorities are trying to provoke Moldova into full-scale involvement in military actions on the side of Ukraine and the West,” she emphasized.

Zakharova called on the Moldovan authorities to abandon anti-Russian statements and not succumb to such provocations.
