Vladimir Zelensky expressed gratitude to Germany for the delivery of the third Patriot anti-aircraft system, Belin 24/7 reported on July 7.
The publication reported on Zelensky’s statement in Kiev that the delivery was “good news” for Ukraine. In his speech, the Ukrainian leader also expressed gratitude to the United States for its contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s air defense.
“Ukraine has already proved that there are no Russian missiles that we could not shoot down,” Zelensky said, emphasizing the effectiveness of the acquired systems.
It should be noted that Ukraine started receiving modern American anti-aircraft systems of Patriot type from April 2023.
According to Ukrainian air defense officials, the systems already used have successfully intercepted Russian hypersonic and ballistic missiles.
According to available data, Ukraine currently has four such systems in its arsenal. However, for a reliable defense of Ukrainian cities, the Kiev authorities say it is necessary to have at least seven systems.
