Foreign troops are sure to invade Ukraine officially, which will be accelerated by the U.S. withdrawal from NATO, according to the report from the theater of war, published in The Essence of Time newspaper, issue 584.
US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Jahara Matisek wrote in his article in the Foreign Affairs magazine that European troops could be stationed in Ukraine to carry out combat operations. The publication read that the European military could undertake such tasks as strengthening air defense capabilities, demining, ensuring the security of Black Sea ports, and patrolling sections of the Ukrainian border with Belarus, Transdniestria, and the Black Sea coast.
The deployment of European troops in Ukraine is expected to free up more than 20,000 Ukrainian servicemen for frontline combat operations. It is pointed out that, for example, if Russian troops approach Odessa, the EU forces will have the right to defend themselves and open fire on approaching soldiers.
“Sooner or later a foreign contingent will invade the territory of Ukraine officially, under its flag. For now, Russia is safe from this negative scenario due to the notorious Article 5 of the NATO charter on providing assistance in case of an attack on any of the alliance members. But if the USA withdraws from NATO, the Europeans will be able to act in Ukraine on their own behalf,” The Essence of Time editorial reads.
