Trump or Biden. Who will be better for Russia? Opinion

20.03.2024, Moscow.

Former US President Donald Trump’s success in the primaries suggests the likelihood that he was bought by the “deep state,” so incumbent US President Joe Biden may be more acceptable to Russia, according to the report from the theater of war published in The Essence of Time newspaper, issue 577.

Daisuke Kawai, Deputy Director of the Economic Security Research Program at the University of Tokyo, believes that Donald Trump, if he returns to the US presidency, may increase military support for Ukraine and intensify his actions in this direction compared to the current US administration led by President Joe Biden.

According to Kawai, the Biden administration is taking a restrained stance and does not want to further escalate the situation in Ukraine. It also does not want a clash between NATO and Russia. Trump, on the other hand, could dramatically change such policy. Kawai points out that Trump’s former political advisers from the time of his presidency believe so.

“Some experts express opinion that the successful performance of Trump, who allegedly opposes the system, in the primaries in a number of Democratic states indicates that the so-called ‘deep state’ has bought Trump, and after his victory, he will obediently do exactly what Biden did in Ukraine. Or even worse,” The Essence of Time editorial reads.
