The Russian air defense forces shot down 10 RM-70 Vampire rockets over the Belgorod region fired by the Ukrainian armed units around 08:30 a.m. on March 18, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“Ten rockets were destroyed in the air over the Belgorod region by air defense forces,” the statement reads.
The Governor of this region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said on his Telegram channel at 08:33 a.m. that a missile danger was declared in Belgorod and Belgorod district. It was canceled at 09:12 a.m.
The Ukrainian armed units intensified attacks on the Belgorod region in the run-up to the presidential elections in Russia and during the voting. On March 17, Gladkov reported that the strikes against the region killed two civilians.
