Russia provides Mongolia with humanitarian aid during fodder shortage

18.03.2024, Ulaanbaatar.

Russia provided Mongolia with hundreds of tax-free grain trucks loaded with fodder to feed cattle that had been left without natural fodder, Russian-Mongolian television channel Aist Global TV informed on March 18.

The report notes that heavy snow in Mongolia led to winter fodder shortage (dzud). High snow cover deprived cattle of access to pastures.

The Russian government approved tax-free grain exports to Mongolia. Buryatia delivered more than 420 grain trucks with feed wheat and oats to Mongolia.

The Russian government also instructed customs to clear humanitarian cargoes across the border in a simplified procedure and without charging duties.

Mongolia’s Deputy Prime Minister Sainbuyangiin Amarsaikhan thanked Russia for its support and assistance during the difficult period of fighting the consequences of the winter famine.

“On behalf of the Government of Mongolia, I would like to express great gratitude for the help in overcoming the difficulties of this difficult period of our country. Since ancient times, our two peoples have been linked by close friendship. Our peoples have a history of warm mutual assistance in moments of joy and hardship. I would like to convey our sincere gratitude to the Government and people of the Russian Federation,” emphasized Sainbuyangiin Amarsaikhan, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia.
