Servicemen fighting in the zone of Russia’s military special operation in Ukraine congratulated the residents of Crimea on the 10th anniversary of the peninsula’s reunification with Russia on March 16, the Vesti Krym TV channel informs.

“10 years ago the dream of millions of people came true. 96.77% of the peninsula’s residents said ‘yes’, and all the people of Russia supported this choice. We are faithful to this choice and are ready to defend it further,” the soldiers said in their congratulatory message.

The residents of Crimea, in turn, handed drones and scopes to the soldiers.

On March 16, 2014, exactly ten years ago, Crimea held a referendum on reunification with Russia.

The peninsula’s residents overwhelmingly voted in favor of becoming part of Russia. In Sevastopol, 95.6% of voters voted in favor, in Crimea – 96.77%. Following the results of the referendum, Crimea joined Russia again.
