West’s new plan: Germany should arm Ukraine with UK’s help

11.03.2024, Berlin.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock liked the proposal of her British counterpart David Cameron that the UK should purchase German Taurus missiles to simultaneously transfer its Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine, the press service of the German Foreign Ministry said on March 11.

“This would be an option. These kinds of ‘circular exchanges’ have taken place before,” Baerbock noted.

Earlier, the UK Prime Minister confirmed his country’s readiness to help solve problems with the supply of missiles.

Cameron said that the UK was determined in this and all other matters to work closely with its German partners to assisst Ukraine.

He also noted that it was important that the countries of Europe could find a joint solution and support partner countries in difficult times.

The situation around arms supplies to Ukraine continues to attract the attention of the international community in light of the growing instability in the region.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the supply of German Taurus missiles to the Kiev regime was ruled out, because together with the missiles, the military personnel servicing them would have to be sent to Ukraine, which would be a clear participation of Germany in the war.
