The Armed Forces of Belarus started checking the combat readiness of formations and military units, the Defense Ministry of Belarus informed on March 11.
The ministry reported on the comprehensive nature of the inspection. The personnel will conduct exercises and training, including live firing and movement of military equipment.
First Deputy Defense Minister of Belarus, Major-General Viktor Gulevich noted that the comprehensive inspection of combat and mobilization readiness is held in the aggravated conditions of the military and political situation, when large-scale exercises of multinational NATO forces are held near the republic’s borders.
“In the subsequent activities, the comprehensive inspection will be intensified, and the number of forces and means involved in the inspection will be increased,” Gulevich added.
