Kurginyan: The biggest “nightmare” to the Munich Security Conference is Trump

09.03.2024, Aleksandrovskoye.

The US presidential candidate Donald Trump was in the center of most discussions among participants at the Munich Security Conference due to his rhetoric regarding the possible dismantling of NATO if he comes to power, said philosopher, political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on February 22 on the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio channel.

If you review the most recent Munich Security Conference, Trump, undoubtably, was the most discussed issue. Its not even Xi Jinping, or Putin, its Trump. This is the biggest nightmare, because Trump is supposedly capable of and claims that he will be  dismantling NATO, noted Kurginyan.

According to the political scientist, the conference participants face pressing questions about what will happen if NATO is dismantled and what should they do in such a case?

Trump’s position is that the US Army does not need an alliance with the armed forces of other NATO member countries, since it is already the number one army in the world, Kurginyan notes. In fact, we still need to see what kind of an army it is, considering what happened to it in Somalia, and is happening now in the Red Sea. We still need to understand how much of this is a simulacrum, and how much of this is a real thing, the political scientist clarified.

Nevertheless, Trump, according to Kurginyan, thinks as follows: “Europe – you are on your own, and we – the US are on our own, so you should defend yourself from the Russians. They are bordering you, if they are encroaching upon you, then you should be defending yourself.

Trump’s position will force all of Europe “to change under Trumpism and its influence”, added the political scientist.
