Polish farmers should reimburse Kiev for the Ukrainian grain they dumped out of the cars bound for Morocco, Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky said on February 28, the RBK-Ukraina news agency reported.

Vysotsky said that 160,000 to 180,000 tons of grain had been dumped out of the cars heading to Morocco. He said that “the person who caused the damage should compensate for it” voluntarily or as a result of a court ruling.

According to the Kiev official, there is damage to private property. He said that criminal proceedings had been launched over the scattering of grain by Polish protesters in Poland.

Relations between Kiev and Warsaw recently escalated due to the blocking of border checkpoints to Ukraine by Polish farmers and carriers with the demand to cancel the benefits granted by the European Union to truckers from Ukraine after February 24, 2022.
