18.02.2024, Moscow.

Ukraine is of tactical importance for the West, but for a Russian citizen it is a matter of life and death, President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin a fragment of which was published in the journalist’s Telegram channel on February 18.

I think it is still important for ourselves, and even more so for our listeners and viewers abroad, to understand the way we think, to understand our state of mind, to understand how sensitive and important it is for our country – everything that is happening in the Ukrainian direction. For them it is an improvement of their tactical position. But for us it is our fate, it is a matter of life and death,” he said.

The president explained the purpose of the historical parts in the interview with Tucker Carlson as an attempt to convey the significance of the situation in Ukraine for Russia.

It should be noted that the Russian president’s interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson was released on February 9. Within a day, the video gained more than 100 million views in the social network X, but it was also posted on a variety of other video hosting sites.

At the same time, users of the Google search engine noticed that the video did not appear on the first page of the search engine’s output in the video block.
