Soldiers of the Russian Group of Forces Dnepr build an underground town on the Kherson direction, the representative of one of its regiments told RIA Novosti on February 16.

The city is a network of dugouts covered with airfield slabs and earth. They give soldiers safe shelter from shells, shrapnel and ammunition dropped from drones. The main task is to keep the personnel safe so that they can carry out their assigned tasks.

The depth of the town’s structures reaches three meters. The total length of passages and trenches is three kilometers.

There are facilities for recreation, cooking, exercise, a bathhouse, laundry, drying room, a place to repair clothes and barbering. Each dugout can accommodate six to eight men. They are equipped with communications, stoves and a central warning system.
