Russia’s strategic rocket forces were upgraded by 95%, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on February 2 at the Everything for Victory! forum.
The naval component of the nuclear triad was upgraded by 100%, the president emphasized. According to Putin, the strategic rocket forces are a reliable rear guard for Russia’s strategic security.
The country will update the conventional weapons of the army and navy in the same way, including also promising new-generation weapons.
On October 25, during the exercises of the Strategic Missile Forces of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces, a ballistic missile Yars was launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome at the Kura test site in Kamchatka. The Sineva ballistic missile was launched from the submarine strategic cruiser Tula.
On December 11, the naval flag was raised on the nuclear-powered submarines Krasnoyarsk and Emperor Alexander III. The latter became the seventh ship in a series of Borey-class strategic missile carriers. They are equipped with 16 Bulava ballistic missiles.
