Kurginyan: Ukraine lost after it attempted to make a show out of its counteroffensive

29.01.2024, Moscow.

The Kiev regime suffered a defeat in its counteroffensive because it gave excessive showmanly promises, and then it failed to fulfill them, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on January 12 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.

According to Kurginyan, Ukraine could have ended the past year with a draw if it had followed certain strategy, i.e. always complained that arms supplies were insufficient and hid its “counteroffensive” plans to make the West strain itself because “the enemy is smart, artful, and enormous”.

“But this was Mr. Zelensky etc., they needed to make a real public presentation of their coming triumphant victories,” the political scientist explained.

Meanwhile, a number of factors had formed, which determined “the showmanly idiocy” of the Kiev regime.

“The first one is this commercial thinking, i.e. we need to promote what is to follow, and the way we will speak and look in the context of this promotion is more important than the action itself,” the expert noted.

Also, the Kiev regime overestimated the equipment supplied from the West, hoping that it will become a silver bullet and that its success near Kharkov could expand everywhere.

“They hate the Muscovites to an extent that they cannot admit any realistic qualities in them, which would require a restrained approach, e.g. this notorious ‘Russians are slow to saddle up but fast to ride’ etc.,” the leader of Essence of Time explained.

Another factor was the fact that Zelensky took responsibility of the result of the counteroffensive after they lowered their demands for the supplies of equipment.

“So, they made so many idiotic things promising wonders that, after they achieved nothing instead of wonders, they did not simply nullified their efficiency, but they suffered an overwhelming defeat because the result was far from what they had claimed,” Kurginyan stressed.

Meanwhile, Russia has managed to hold out, both on the battlefield and in defense industry, economy etc., and to keep its domestic political stability.
