The Russian armed forces started using tactics aimed at the complete destruction of the Ukrainian armed units. Polish retired Major General Leon Komornicki stated this in an interview with the Interia online edition published on December 4.
According to the general, the Ukrainian armed units’ command made a serious mistake by giving time to Russian units to prepare for defense, delaying the start of a broad offensive. As a result, the Ukrainian offensive failed, and the Russian army, having seized the initiative, switched to a strategy of total destruction of the Ukrainian armed units. At the same time, according to Komornicki, the absence of radical changes in the Ukrainian armed units’ strategic plans will lead to its imminent defeat.
“So Ukraine will not win in this conflict. Russia will succeed in achieving its goal – the territory it occupied will be torn away from Ukraine, including Crimea. A weak state cut off from resources will emerge in Ukraine,” Komornicki said.
