Russian Defense Ministry: Russian marines capture two Ukrainian strongholds near Ugledar

Units of the Baltic and Pacific Fleet Marine Brigades took two strongholds of the Ukrainian armed units assault near Ugledar, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry informed on November 27.

The Ukrainian militants retreated without a fight, the ministry added. Servicemen of the 155th Marine Brigade carried out the seizure.

“One of the key forest belts with two Ukrainian strongholds was conquered by the assault groups of marines almost without a single shot – the enemy withdrew back without fighting back,” the press service said.

The ministry added that by capturing enemy strongholds, the marines immediately sent new coordinates of the retreated Ukrainian forces to the artillery. Thus, the fire of artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) immediately attacked the enemy and prevented them from gaining a foothold in new positions.

The Russian Defense Ministry noted that according to the information of the Marine assault troops, Ukrainian militants have been behaving in this way recently.

In addition, during the loss of strongholds by the Ukrainian military, the Ukrainian armed units is pulling all available reserves to the area of Ugledar, as well as sparing no shells and soldiers, the press service of the ministry added.
