The first 10 samples of universal crewless boats will be delivered to the Russian Defense Ministry by the end of 2023, said Mikhail Danilenko, managing director of KMZ Holding (Kingisepp Machine Building Plant), RIA Novosti wrote on November 27.

“The delivery of the first 10 units has already been agreed with the Ministry of Defense, which we should ship by the end of this year,” Danilenko said.

The managing director stressed that a pilot batch of uncrewed boats based on the Vizir platform will be delivered to the Russian Defense Ministry. Further, the drones will be tested in the zone of Russia’s special military operation.

On August 16, Danilenko said that KMZ specialists had created a universal crewless boat.

He specified that the boat is able to accelerate up to 80 km/h and overcome more than 200 km. At low speeds, according to Danilenko, the marine drone is capable of traveling up to 600 kilometers. The vehicle is capable of carrying up to 600 kilograms of explosives on board. In addition, the boats can be used as a platform for launching an aerial drone or used as a means of fighting other drones.
