Russian air defense forces destroyed two Neptun anti-ship missiles over the Black Sea waters off the Crimean coast near Sevastopol, the Russian Defense Ministry said on November 17.
“Ukrainian missiles were detected and destroyed by air defense means over the water area,” the statement said.
Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev confirmed on his Telegram channel a short time after the air alert that the city’s infrastructure had not suffered “any damage.”
The air alert was canceled twenty minutes after the alarm was announced. The operation of public transportation was halted for this time. According to the Kommersant newspaper, local residents heard a powerful explosion during the air alert.
