Russia will save both itself and humanistic ideals of humanity by switching to the “backup road”, political scientist, philosopher, analyst, leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on October 30 on a special edition of the program Destiny.
Kurginyan once again reminded that in the confrontation with the West, Russia has no other choice but to “develop in the existing system toward standing up and enduring.” The political scientist believes that this working mechanism cannot be changed now.
In his opinion, the moment will soon come when the existing system itself will begin to collapse, so it is necessary to create now a viable alternative to replace it.
“We are at point X, but at point Y, it [the system] will collapse on its own. And then it is very important that some other route is already being prepared in parallel, which will quickly become dominant,” the political scientist explained.
The philosopher suggested using a formula for existence that had already helped the Soviet Union survive the difficult years.
“Lesson number one: ‘We are peaceful people, but our armored train is on the backup road.’ So, first and foremost. We need this ‘armored train on the backup road’,” Kurginyan said.
He also noted that once this “backup road” will emerge, it will become a primary route in a few years.
“And then we will endure and save not only ourselves, but also some humanistic ideals, without which humanity cannot exist,” the political scientist explained.
The political scientist believes that no multipolar world will be sustainable. In his opinion, humanity will face “a battle between the forces of humanism and the forces of extreme anti-humanism.” He compared this battle to Armageddon described in the biblical New Testament.
Kurginyan went on to explain that “consumer civilization, which is gradually decaying more and more,” will not be able to withstand barbarians unless it turns into barbarians itself. But it is impossible for Russia to become barbarians, the analyst believes.
“So, we need such a new word about Man and Humanity, in which this alternative between dull ‘mumbling’ and wolfish barbaric howling, I stress wolfish, will be resolved in favor of something third,” the political scientist stressed.
Russia has already witnessed such a period in its history, when an answer was given about the essence of Man, capable of withstanding in the era of global battles, Essence of Time’s leader reminded.
He believes that applying this experience to today’s situation will help avoid a world catastrophe.
“This was done in the best years of the Soviet era. Not a direct repetition of this experience, but an understanding of its nature and reproduction of this nature essentially at a new stage. This is what can save,” Kurginyan concluded.
