The United States should have supported moderate Islam, a national Palestinian state, if it really wanted to conclude the Abraham Accords, political scientist, analyst, philosopher, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on October 21 on the Right to Know! program on the TVC channel.
According to the political scientist, the USA supported radical Hamas forces, and this support is incompatible with the possibility of concluding peace agreements.
“They [negotiations – Rossa Primavera News Agency] will be held, and they will continuously discuss a kind of ceasefire or peace agreements. But, pardon me, if it was about peace, then why support Hamas? Then you should have held talks with Arafat and the most moderate wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine,” Kurginyan said.
According to the analyst, if the USA wanted any Abraham Accords, it would have to support “moderate Islam, a national Palestinian state” in every way possible.
“But it [the USA] supports Hamas. What kind of agreement are we talking about then? What kind of talks should one have with Hamas?” Sergey Kurginyan explained. In his opinion, something is being created that “cannot participate in the Abraham or any other agreements.”
This situation also overlaps with the actions of other Middle Eastern powers, the philosopher explained.
“Then there’s the question of what Saudi Arabia and everyone else want… They want to be the leaders of this Islamic world, they have capitalization, they can’t go further than a certain point in the agreements. And that point doesn’t suit Israel. That’s the first thing.
And secondly. As soon as the situation becomes radicalized, they will take the Islamic side. And whom should they support? Do they have to keep saying ‘we will be friends with Israel?'” the leader of the Essence of Time movement said.
