Kurginyan: There is currently no ground for a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine

There is no ground on which a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine could currently take place. Philosopher, leader of the Essence of Time movement, and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan expressed this opinion on October 21 on the program The Right to Know! on the TVC channel.

“I think that the current scenario is positional war,” he said.

“[Russian President Vladimir] Putin keeps ironically saying: does anyone want to reconcile, or what? And does anyone put forward any proposals? This obviously sounds sarcastic, because he knows that there is no such thing – that there is no ground on which any peace agreement, which everyone is waiting for and which is impossible in the current situation, can take place,” the political analyst explained.

Kurginyan emphasized that it is impossible to ignore the fact that post-Soviet Russia “made a fuss of Ukraine ” and provided all kinds of concessions, but under President Leonid Kuchma, Ukraine adopted an anti-Russian course.

“The Ukrainian elite adopted this course, this policy to become the main strike anti-Russian military force. It sold the country for it. There is such a song ‘You sold me, father, for a Nazi nickel.’ So, Ukraine was sold for that nickel. It was given into this militarized slavery. Originally, could anyone imagine the situation we have now?” Kurginyan concluded.
