Lavrov accuses the West of pushing the Middle East toward a major war

06.11.2023, Moscow.

Western countries are pushing the Middle East toward a major war, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on November 6 during a lecture for the Knowledge. First project.

“Now we see how the Anglo-Saxons are literally pushing the Middle East to the brink of a major war,” Lavrov said, emphasizing that they are pursuing the same line in other regions, particularly in Ukraine.

“There are many examples, but the result is the same: loss or weakening of statehood, as it happened with Iraq, Libya, as they tried to do with the Syrian Arab Republic,” the minister added.

The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed concerns that the United States may involve NATO in the conflict in the Middle East.
