Initially, the US Republicans had a negative attitude towards Israel, but after certain myth appeared their attitude changed to love, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on October 20 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.
The political scientist reminded that Israel appeared due to Joseph Stalin and Lavrenty Beria. They expected that it would be a socialist state.
At the same time, US president Franklin Delano Roosevelt was strongly against the emergence of Israel. However, the strongest hatred towards this country in that period was among the members of the US Republican Party.
“The Republicans initially hated Israel. They were total anti-Semites, and they hated Israel most of all, while the Democrats hated it moderately. But later the Republicans came to love Israel,” Kurginyan said.
As a result of these changes, various friendly organizations appeared, Jews for Nixon etc. Kurginyan explained that love towards Israel appeared after certain myth appeared.
The philosopher stressed that myths are something very serious. “Myths govern people’s minds, so we can refuse to believe in it, but it exists,” he added.
“A myth appeared that on the Judgment Day, during a war in the Megiddo Valley between various forces (a nuclear war etc.) unidentified flying objects will arrive (this was called dispensionalism) to take all the Protestants to the Paradise and to leave the Earth for the Jews,” Kurginyan described the US mythology of that period.
According to Kurginyan, special movements inside the US Republican Party emerged based on this myth. These were the groups that were sympathetic towards Israel. “Exactly towards Israel, and conservative Israel,” the political scientist noted.
