A public evacuation plan was activated in northern Israel, the IDF Spokesperson’s Office informed on October 16.
It is planned to evacuate residents of 28 settlements in a two-kilometer zone near the border with Lebanon.
People will be relocated to state-funded housing. The evacuation will be handled by the Defense and Interior Ministries, as well as local authorities.
Earlier the IDF urged residents of the two-kilometer zone not to go far from the shelters. The four-kilometer zone was closed for entry.
