Speaker of Poltava regional military enlistment office urges all Ukrainian men to be prepared for sending to the front lines

06.10.2023, Poltava.

Every man in Ukraine should be ready to be sent to the front, the speaker of the Poltava regional military enlistment office Roman Istomin said on October 5, the Ukrainian daily Strana reported.

In his opinion, it is unlikely that the entire population of the country will be drafted into the army, but all those liable for military service may be mobilized.

“I would say this: every man should already understand that he will most likely have to defend his homeland with a weapon in his hands,” Istomin said.

Rossa Primavera News Agency wrote earlier that Edward Luttwak, a well-known American historian and military theorist, ex-advisor to Ronald Reagan, said that Ukraine needs to increase its army to 3 million people to turn the situation on the front. He also suggested that Western countries should send Ukrainian men back to replenish the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and save money on the maintenance of refugees.

At the same time, Ukraine has started offering a new way to avoid mobilization – a death certificate at a price of $10,000 each.
