Financial and credit relations in the modern world are designed to serve the interests of the “golden billion” countries and it has to change, said Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 29 at the Russia-Latin America Parliamentary Conference.
“Loan obligations for developing markets are similar to some kind of quitrent; some kind of contribution; and this should not happen. Therefore, all of us together, joining forces, must change the rules in this international sphere,” Putin said.
According to the Russian President, the leaders of the “golden billion” countries are exploiting almost the whole world and “abusing their position – in technological, the media, and finance.”
Putin also said that Russia is interested in building mutually beneficial relations between countries on an equal footing. In particular, he noted that Moscow will help strengthen relations between Latin American countries and the The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
More than half of the Latin American countries are taking part in the first Russia – Latin America Parliamentary Conference. The conference will continue until October 2.
