Kurginyan assesses “the sorting our of disputes” around Artyomovsk

07.06.2023, Moscow.

The conflicts and abusive statements that took place during the heroic seizure of Artyomovsk are indispensable part of the “hybrid” post-Soviet reality, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan writes in his article The Hybrid in the Essence of Time newspaper.

Artyomovsk has been taken… But its seizure is not the only thing that is under discussion, Kurginyan writes. “The discussion also focuses on Evgeny Prigozhin’s statements, on the conflicts between Wagner, which he leads and which we should thank for this positive event, and other components of our overall military potential.”

According to Kurginyan, when looking into the events around the seizure of Artyomovsk we should not follow any illusions and speculations about how exactly Joseph Stalin or Lavrenty Beria would react to any insults by their subordinates.

Of course, if any of the most heroic units of the Soviet Army had publicly demanded anything and if they had threatened that they would leave their positions unless their demands are fulfilled, then reaction would have been absolutely different, the philosopher notes.

However, according to Kurginyan, we should understand that we live in a different period. A different reality is in place now, and “sorting disputes out” is “part of this regrettable reality.”

And if this is the case, why should be regretfully react to the sorting out of disputes that is taking place? For the hybrid, such sorting out is a form of its self-actualization, its way of being,” the leader of the Essence of Time movement believes.
