Kurginyan: Western-oriented people must not determine Russia’s destiny

07.06.2023, Moscow.

Western-oriented people must not determine Russia’s destiny, they should just be allowed to leave the country, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on May 26 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.

The political scientist noted that Russia has to change, because the current reality is not the one with which we can hold out. In his opinion, it is not necessary to change the top officials.

It is absolutely unnecessary to change our top officials to this end. Our top officials should finally understand that we have an unlimited respect to their love towards the reality they built, but this reality is not the one that can hold out. Russia’s destiny is above love towards any kind of a reality, the leader of Essence of Time said.

He noted that the Russian patriotic circles still behave in a way as if they were guerrillas in their own country.

As I once told one high-ranking administrative official, ‘You are talking to me as if you were leader of a major guerrilla regiment like Kovpak. But I think your rank is almost Chief of General Staff. So, what are you, Kovpak or the Chief of General Staff? Who are you?’ the political scientist explained the situation.

At the same time, Kurginyan stressed that a situation when “strangely liberal groups” dictate the agenda must not be allowed. He noted that they are not the people who should make decisions in culture, education, informational policy in Russia today.

Will they keep determining it as before? Will they rule in everything related to our education system? Will they ignore everything and gradually seize the top level of the fourth, informational, branch of government? the political scientist rhetorically asked.

Kurginyan expressed an opinion that the West-oriented circles and those who want to live there should be allowed to leave Russia. In his opinion, we should avoid any rough measures in this issue.

Let those people calm down in their Western villas; if they want to leave so much, let us rent VIP airplanes, and let us give them a farewell with an orchestra and a red carpet saying ‘Fly away, birds.’ We do not need another 1937. My grandfather was executed in 1938, let us avoid similar bloodshed, scandals, and intrigues. They have one destiny, we have another, the political scientist concluded.
