The production of UAZ vehicles is planned to start in Ghana, Lawrence Auku-Boateng, the chairman of the Ghana-Russia Business Development Council said on June 7, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the Ghanaian representative, some companies are interested in UAZ production. A delegation will arrive in Moscow in the coming months for talks on the subject.
“In June or July of this year, I will participate in negotiations with Sollers, which produces UAZ. If everything goes well, we are ready to produce vehicles in Ghana,” Auku-Boateng said.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the largest Russian automakers had expressed their desire to enter the market of Ghana. UAZ and KamAZ brands were mentioned.
