Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the ratification of the agreement between Russia and Kirgizstan on the creation of a joint regional system of air defense. The bill was published on May 29 on the official website of legal information.
The agreement was signed on August 16. Its term was five years, with the possibility of extension.
Under the agreement, the countries will create a regional air defense system, and it will be a part of the joint air defense system of the Commonwealth of Independent States countries. To implement the agreement, Kirgizstan will lease five hectares of land to Russia, where Russian troops will be stationed.
The information obtained from the agreements will constitute state secrets of both countries.
