Russia launches the unique Kondor-FKA radar satellite

The unique radar satellite “Kondor-FKA” No. 1, which can receive images of the Earth’s surface all day long and in all weather conditions, including conditions of heavy cloudiness, was successfully launched into space, reports the Roscosmos telegram channel of the State Corporation Roscosmos.

The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the Fregat booster took place at 00:14:51 Moscow time from the 1C pad of the Vostochny launch site.

The launch proceeded normally. The upper stage separated from the rocket’s third stage and now injects the spacecraft into its orbit.

This is the eighth launch of a Russian rocket this year and the first from the Vostochny launch site.
