The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) tried to recruit the First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the DNR Dmitry Kostyamin, the press service of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) informed on May 11.
According to the agency, the SBU agents demanded that Kostyamin hand over classified information to Kiev. If he refused, the official was threatened with reprisals against his wife.
The FSB reported that Kostyamin’s wife left for Kharkov on March 1 to attend her mother’s funeral. There she was seized by the Kiev security services.
“Threatening her with physical violence, the SBU officers tried to force Dmitry Kostyamin to hand over classified information,” the press service reported.
The Russian security services released the official’s wife as a result of an operational game. She was able to leave the territory of Ukraine.
