Yevgeny Prigozhin announced the raising of the Russian flag over the Artemovsk administration building on April 2, according to his press service on his Telegram channel.
“April 2, 2023, 11:00 p.m. We hoisted a Russian flag with the inscription ‘Good memory to Vladlen Tatarsky’ and the flag of PMC Wagner on the city administration of Bakhmut. Legally, Bakhmut [Artemovsk] is under our control. The enemy pulled its forces into the western areas,” Prigozhin explained.
The commanders of the units that took the city administration and the entire central quarter hoisted banners.
