Information about the use by the Ukrainian Army of the Olkha-M multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) with a range of up to 110 km may be a cover for the fact that the United States has given Kiev missiles for HIMARS with an increased range, according to a summary from the war theater in the Essence of Time newspaper No. 524.
In early March, Ivan Vinnik, first deputy head of the National Association of Defense Industry of Ukraine, said that the Ukrainian military began using the Olkha-M MLRS. The range of the new system is now 110 km, there are plans to increase it to 150 km.
“If this is not a fake and “Olkha” really appeared in the Ukrainian Army in significant quantities in addition to HIMARS, then it will greatly complicate the situation on the front line for us, as it will be possible to destroy them only with the help of aviation. But it is also possible that the US has transferred advanced missiles for HIMARS with an extended range to Kiev, and this is just a cover,” says the editorial commentary of the Essence of Time newspaper.
