The USA offers Kiev a simple formula, which consists of supplying weapons in exchange for an offensive in Donbass, according to the reports from the theater of war published in the Essence of Time newspaper.
The newspaper cited US media publications and statements by US officials made in the second half of February on the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine. The US publication Politico claims that the White House demanded that the Ukrainian authorities switch to offensive actions in Donbass and warned about a possible reduction in military aid if this is not done.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, commenting on arms deliveries to Kiev in an interview with CBS channel, said that the United States expects a Ukrainian counteroffensive in the coming months. Jake Sullivan, the US national security adviser, also spoke on CNN about preparations for a counteroffensive in Donbass.
“The formula offered by the USA is simple: weapons in exchange for an offensive by the Ukrainian armed units in the spring,” the editorial commentary of the Essence of Time newspaper reads.
