Israeli planes attack Aleppo airport in Syria

07.03.2023, Moscow

The Israeli Air Force attacked Aleppo airport on March 7, Rear Admiral Oleg Gurinov, deputy head of the Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides in the Syrian Arab Republic, said at a briefing.

Four Israeli F-16s delivered the strike from the eastern Mediterranean Sea. It damaged the runway and radar of the Al-Nairab international airport in Aleppo.

The airport is currently out of service. This seriously complicates the delivery of humanitarian supplies to the country, Gurinov said.

In October, Israel attacked airfields and production facilities on Syrian territory, where Iranian drones were allegedly being produced for the needs of Iran and the Hezbollah group.

Earlier, Israel attacked and temporarily disabled Aleppo airport. The Israeli side claims it is attacking Iranian arms shipments to Syria.
