Member of the main council of Zaporozhye regional administration: Ukraine accumulates water for possible flooding of Zaporozhye NPP

14.10.2022, Energodar.

The Ukrainian authorities are preparing to make a massive release of water through a cascade of hydroelectric power plants on the Dnepr River to flood the area around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, a chairman of the We Together with Russia movement Vladimir Rogov said on October 14.

There is an accumulation of water in the reservoirs on the Dnieper River upstream of Energodar. This may be done for a sharp release of water, which will result in flooding of the area around the nuclear power plant. Kiev’s plans may include a new assault and seizure of the Zaporozhye NPP, flooding will help destroy and bypass the protective positions and structures used by Russian troops to protect the NPP.

“They are trying in this way to flood or destroy the fortifications that are on the banks of the Dnepr, near the Zaporozhye NPP in the first place – there are mines, barbed wire, and barricades. If the water rises a few meters, a boat can sail over it and land,” Rogov said.

The US military practiced a similar method, they were able to get a huge wave with a height of 22 meters and a speed of about 60 km / h by dropping water.

“The fact is that the cascade on the Dnepr includes several hydroelectric power plants, starting with the Kiev hydroelectric power plant. If you look from above, a huge amount of water is accumulated there now. And to such an extent that the pedestrian Obolonskaya embankment in the Ukrainian capital is flooded,” Rogov said.
