The DPR and LPR units with the fire support of the Russian Armed Forces liberated the villages Nikolaevka and Nikolaevka II in the Donetsk People’s Republic near Artyomovsk, the press service of the DPR territorial defense headquarters reported on September 14.

“The DPR and LPR units with fire support of the Russian Armed Forces liberated Nikolaevka and Nikolaevka II,” the headquarters reported.

According to the report, Ukrainian neo-Nazis shelled the territory of the DPR using tanks, mortars and large-caliber artillery. 12 villages and towns of the republic came under the fire of the Ukrainian armed units.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation to protect Donbass in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR. The goal of the operation is the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. At the same time, the Russian leader stressed that there is no question of military occupation of Ukraine.

In his congratulations on the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, addressed on May 9 to the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Vladimir Putin stressed that at present the servicemen of the Russian Federation, the DPR and LPR are fighting shoulder to shoulder, like their ancestors, to liberate their native land from Nazis, and expressed confidence in victory, as in 1945.

The Russian leader reminded that the common duty of all who honor the great memory of the Great Patriotic War is to prevent the revival of Nazism, which brought so much suffering to people of different countries.
