The meaning of the ongoing processes in the world today can only be understood if a comprehensive picture of the current events is formed, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on August 8 in a new issue of his Destiny author’s broadcast published on the movement’s YouTube channel.
Although it is important to know what is taking place and to follow the events, it is still more important to understand the meaning of the current events, the political scientist stressed. Momentous details, i.e. events, cannot be understood unless a comprehensive picture of the current events is obtained.
“Any comprehensive picture is based on certain concepts,” Sergey Kurginyan explained. Regress is such kind of a concept today. This is why the discussion should focus on this complicated and unobvious concept.
“If we fail to understand this [the concept of regress] we will understand neither the meaning of momentous details nor the direction of the process, which consists of these still uncomprehended details,” the political scientist explained.
The philosopher noted that not everyone needs a comprehensive world picture. Some people, unfortunately, have lost any capability to form it. Their minds have become so much deformed by the Internet, the education system, and the way of life “that such a mind just cannot accommodate a comprehensive world picture.”
Another category of people does not want to obtain a comprehensive world picture due to their neurotic condition, because they are simply afraid of being unable to cope with the truth and losing their psychological stability. And there are some who believe that a comprehensive picture is the work of the devil. They believe that there are only individual events that do not need to be comprehended or summarized.
“There are many people for whom any holism is either alien, or harmful, or unreachable. And who reject holism,” Kurginyan concluded.
However, there are people who suffer from a lack of understanding of what is taking place and who try to comprehend it despite the fact that it is increasingly difficult to do in the current information field, the philosopher believes.
“They want to understand them [the current events], and they feel that such an understanding is increasingly removed from the current informational streams. Thus, it is more and more difficult to achieve it, and a new mega-trend is governing, which throws sideways anything related to this holism from the informational life,” the political scientist explained.
According to Kurginyan, this new mega-trend hates holism, and it is trying to destroy any attempts to comprehend the ongoing processes.
“The more clearly this new post-human mega-trend claims its intentions, the more obvious it becomes how much effort it took for humanity to achieve very many things. Including the capability for comprehending certain integral world pictures,” the political scientist concluded.
