The Ukrainian army units almost completely withdrew from Seversk in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the LPR People’s Militia officer Andrey Marochko said on July 20 on the air of Channel One Russia.

According to him, the Ukrainian army units withdrew to the second line of defense, which is located outside the city. From there they continue to shell the town.

“There are practically no Ukrainian army soldiers left in this town. … They predominantly took the second line of defense. They have slightly withdrawn from this town and continue strikes on our servicemen and on the civilian infrastructure of this town,” Marochko said.

On July 13, reports emerged that the joint armed forces of the Russian Federation and the LPR had entered Seversk.

The Ukrainian army’s defense along the line Seversk – Soledar – Artemovsk (Bakhmut) is currently being breached. After taking these cities under control, the joint forces will apparently start liberating Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.
