Residents of Stanitsa Luganskaya tell about abuse by Ukrainian military

The residents of Stanitsa Luganskaya told Russian investigators about the abuse committed by the Ukrainian military over the eight years of Kiev’s occupation, RIA Novosti reported on June 14.

In a published video, wholesaler Viktor Gaidukov told how his car was shelled eight years ago at a checkpoint.

“I was transporting goods from Starobelsk. At a railroad crossing they shot at me with a Kalashnikov rifle. One bullet hit me on the head,” the man said pointing at his temple.

According to the wholesaler, the Ukrainian army explained that they did so because he failed to stop. In his turn, he was surprised, because he was “two streets away.” Later, unloading his cargo after shelling, he found about 30 bullets.

“Everything in the van ― eggs, crackers, sweets ― was upside down. If the van had been empty I would have been dead,” the survivor believes.

According to Gaidukov, the doctors found the bullet to be too dangerous to remove, so it remained in his temple.

“It is taking away my vision and hearing. You see how loud I am speaking,” he explained.

A resident of the town Nina Tureeva said that her husband Nikolay Tireev died because of the shelling from the Ukrainian side. The man got his first bullet back in 2014, when a Ukrainian armored personnel carrier entered the town shooting around indiscriminately. The second wound he received in 2015. Three fragments were removed, but at least four more were left. The victim took a long treatment, but it failed to help him.

“An infection and venous thrombosis began. He got a stroke, then he remained in bed for 13 days, and then he died. It was one year ago,” the widow said.

The woman also said that the Ukrainian military servicemen deliberately shelled the town of Luganskaya to simulate return fire from the militia of Donbass.

“We were living at the separation line. An armored personnel carrier would drive out to shoot towards Lugansk for a while, then it would turn and shoot on us,” the explained. According to Tureeva, Ukrainian military servicemen could walk along a street and shoot at the windows of civilians.
