A shell hit a maternity hospital in Donetsk during shelling by Ukrainian punitive forces on June 13, RIA Novosti reported.
“Ukrainian artillery shelled the Donetsk Republican Center for Maternity and Childhood Protection at Panfilova Street 3,” the report reads.
It is noted that the shelling was heavy, but as a result of the direct hit, no one was injured. The women in labor were timely evacuated to the basement. After the shelling, doctors continued to provide assistance.
The intensive shelling of Donetsk has been going on for more than two hours with the use of barrel and rocket artillery, including the use of cluster munitions.
The Voroshilovsky, Kievsky and Kuybyshevsky districts of the city were most heavily shelled.
More than a hundred rounds of ammunition were fired at Donetsk by Ukrainian militants: at least eight rockets from BM-27 Uragan, 80 rockets from Grad MLRS, 18 155mm shells, and 10 120mm mortar shells, According to a DPR representative at the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination.
