Kurginyan explains how Russia was drawn into conflict in Ukraine

The West used all means at their disposal to draw Russia into the conflict, and it raised the escalation to a level when Russia had to react, said philosopher, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on April 23 on the Right to Know program on the TVC channel.

According to Kurginyan, as soon as the USA built a model of two opposing forces (democracies vs. autocracies) and included Russia as well as China in the list of the authoritarian countries, it became clear that a war against Russia was being planned.

“The West used all means to involve Russia in the war, and it made any weak involvement in what was happening unacceptable: ‘If you refuse to get involved we will escalate it even more and still more.’ They controlled the escalation regulator, and they always could raise it to a level at which we would have to react,” Kurginyan stressed.

He explained that a proxy war is taking place in Ukraine, which major powers wage when they want to deal with each other at an intermediate territory. “For example, on the territory of Ukraine. They try to find out who is tougher. They can measure this in a very acute manner, when actions of individual ships or aircraft is acceptable. And then the score is counted,” the political scientist said.

However, Kurginyan noted, Ukraine is not Vietnam. Vietnam is far away. And one could turn a blind eye to it those days.

NATO covered Ukraine with a network of unofficial bases. One of the bases was in Ochakovo. The US naval operations center built in Ochakovo could enable operations by NATO ships, including the use of precision weapons, against the Black Sea Fleet and Russian infrastructure on the coast, according to Russian president Vladimir Putin’s address to the people.
