Russian Defense Ministry: Ukrainian Nazis are involved in the accident at the chemical plant in Sumy

21.03.2022, Moscow.

Ukrainian Nazis were involved in an ammonia leak at a chemical plant in Sumy, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said during a briefing on March 21.

On the night of Sunday to Monday, the regional administration of the Sumy region reported an ammonia leak at the Sumy chemical plant, emergency services went to the site and the accident was eliminated in the morning.

“A planned provocation by Ukrainian nationalists was conducted in the city of Sumy at night, which the Russian Defense Ministry officially warned about a few days ago,” Konashenkov said.

The accident posed no danger to civilians because of the direction of the wind, which blew away from the city and ammonia fumes did not reach residential houses.

“According to the head of the Sumy regional administration, there was an ammonia leak at the Sumy chemical plant. There is no threat to the residents of Sumy, as the air masses moved ‘not in the direction of the city’,” Konashenkov said.

Konashenkov once again reminded that during the special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine, the Russian air force does not strike civilian objects, especially enterprises and storage facilities of hazardous substances.
